Why should men kill cows for their selfish purposes? Why should man not be satisfied with grains, fruits and milk, which, combined together, can produce hundreds and thousands of palatable dishes?…
In Sanskrit the word ‘Goshala’ literally means cow protection, or the place where cows are sheltered.
This is the crux of a healthy cow protection plan. If bulls are put to meaningful employment, then milk production will be viable and economic. To have a breeding programme which does not include regular work for the males is both unhealthy and extremely uneconomical.

We must support diversity in nature and buy from organic small farmers so we do not get trapped into eventually having no variety and no choice and to pay higher prices and only have supermarkets and genetically grown crops resistant to chemicals that will pass through to our children & our own body !
Care for A Cow
Kurma Rupa, the founder of Care for Cows, once described Care for Cows as follows: “It is a place where we just simply protect the cows. It is a place where we bring in cows that have either been injured, or they’re suffering from malnutrition, or some disease, and we bring them in and try and recuperate them – try and bring them back to good health. And then we keep them here.”
CareforACow.org is not only dedicated to taking care of its four-legged residents, but also to increasing awareness, providing education and taking action regarding vegetarian living , environmental & cow protection (go raksha), as taught in the Vedic scriptures.
At present our associates maintain about 30 cows, bulls, and calves in two locations throughout Melbourne & NSW. Additionally, we help to fund and feed wildlife & assist volunteer wildlife carers and fund meals for homeless people daily basis as well.

Our aim is to create awareness among all, that Gomaatha (cow ) is the backbone of agriculture, health and environment. In short she is the backbone of human welfare.
Cow protection (Go Samrakshanam) ,really, is all about how cow protects us (not the other way around).
Even skeptics, the not so religiously inclined and members of other religions cannot deny the role of the cow in promoting human welfare.
She indeed is a second mother to all of us. It is our duty to serve our protector. Let us all work as one large family in this noble endeavor.

“The problem with today’s world is a human problem. Humans have taken over all of mother earth leaving nothing for the rest of nature. This approach towards life has created a total imbalance in nature. This imbalance will last as long as we keep going with the cruel killing of mother cow that gives us milk, tearing down the forests and polluting our oceans and air, we all share this ONE planet. Humans are supposed to be “higher ” animal to care for others under our care, but look at how we behave ! We need to respect and help the elderly and our mothers that gave us this material life, teachers and women in general and care for children. The keys to restoring the balance is also in the hands of the humans only. It starts with us, we can introduce others to the spiritual life, enlighten, and gradually change the demand for the bad things and bad acts. Even if we save one cow or one animal – it matters to the animal ! and your soul.
As well as saving cows and animals from slaughter and a life of abuse – just ask yourself this – would you like a life like we force on them ??
YES you can do something – just stop buying that product and markets will supply what you DO buy – fruits nuts vegies etc
CAREFORACOW concerns itself with the greater environment, so we can start a groundswell of enlightened higher thinking people that will pervade society so that more people see the better kinder higher way of life for our furry friends and our fellow man and cause a shift toward truly sustainable food production by select cropping and landuse (especially our arid areas) and the best use of our ONE planets resource that we all have to share – like it or not – we live on THIS ONE planet
We are here to create environments for native animals and heal degraded areas by using trees native grasses and eco design so that the oasis we create with your help will attract and support to make up for damage done in the past or that is being done elsewhere by others …We may not be able to stop damage and waste elsewhere, but we can control our own actions and influence things here – so you can find a local spot that needs re habilitation and get a group together (we can assist to a certain extent) and that way you can do your bit too .. happy planet = happy life.
